Music tuition, mentoring & inclusion
For Schools
Inclusion through music
Tailored music sessions for young people in upper primary and secondary education. Delivered individually or in small groups, sessions build on learners’ musical interests to develop trusting relationships, confidence, communication and participation.
Who the programme supports
The programme supports learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), children in care, young people experiencing difficulties attending school, and those with low self-esteem or barriers to participation. Activities are adapted to individual needs, with goals agreed alongside school staff. No previous musical experience is required.
Explore and get started
Delivered individually or in small groups, each six-week programme begins by building relationships and understanding learners’ interests, needs and goals. Early sessions explore instruments and music technology at a comfortable pace.
Develop a creative project
Weekly 45–60 minute sessions build towards a song, beat, recording or performance. Activities are adapted to the learner, with manageable steps and individual support.
For Families
Finish and review
The final session provides an opportunity to complete or share creative work and reflect on progress. Parents or school staff receive brief feedback on participation, achievements and suggested next steps.
Resound & Rise also offers individual music tuition and mentoring for young people, with sessions tailored to their interests, experience and goals. Choose guitar or bass lessons, drums, songwriting, recording or music production—or explore a combination. I provide patient, flexible support, with particular experience working with learners with SEN and SEMH needs. Sessions can focus on developing musical skills, building confidence or completing a creative project, and are delivered in your home around Ashford and the surrounding area, with equipment provided.
