About
I’m Chris Thomas, founder of Resound & Rise—a musician, producer and educator based in Ashford, Kent.
I hold a degree in Music Technology and bring 10 years of teaching experience across a wide range of educational settings. As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, I combine practical instrumental skills with songwriting, recording and music production, helping young people explore the parts of music that interest them most.
In my role as Head of Music at an SEMH school, I work with young people who can find traditional education difficult to access. This experience has shaped my approach: take time to build trust, understand the individual and create opportunities for them to experience success.
I have a particular interest in supporting young people with special educational needs and social, emotional and mental health needs. My sessions are patient, flexible and built around each learner’s strengths, interests and pace. There is no expectation to arrive with musical experience or know exactly what you want to achieve.
Through Resound & Rise, I offer guitar, bass and drum tuition, music technology sessions and individual mentoring, alongside targeted programmes for schools. Whether we’re learning a favourite song, creating a first beat or recording an original track, I help learners develop their skills, recognise their progress and take ownership of their work.
I bring the equipment to you, making it easier to get started at home or within your school setting.
My aim is to make music accessible and give young people a supportive space to discover what they can do.
